This session focuses on the prevalence and distribution of two significant types of cancers in Bhutan. The first part examines the incidence of head and neck cancers, discussing the risk factors, early detection methods, and treatment challenges specific to Bhutan’s population. It highlights the importance of public awareness and access to healthcare services for effective management. The second part shifts to gastric cancer, focusing on its geographical distribution across Bhutan. It explores the regional variations in incidence, possible environmental and lifestyle factors contributing to the disease, and the efforts made to address this growing health concern. Together, these discussions aim to enhance understanding and inform strategies for cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment in Bhutan.
