This session addresses two important topics related to mental health and well-being in Bhutan. The first part explores the risk factors associated with suicide ideation, examining the underlying psychological, social, and environmental factors that contribute to thoughts of suicide. It highlights the importance of early intervention, awareness, and support systems in mitigating these risks. The second part shifts to the support systems available for students at the Royal University of Bhutan, focusing on the initiatives in place to promote student wellbeing, mental health, and resilience. It discusses the strategies used by the university to provide a safe and supportive environment for students, ensuring they have access to resources for managing stress and personal challenges. Together, these discussions emphasize the critical need for comprehensive mental health support across educational institutions.
