This session covers two critical aspects of education in Bhutan: teacher assessment practices and academic leadership. The first part focuses on how teachers in Bhutan construct their subjective theories of assessment, exploring how personal beliefs, experiences, and educational philosophies shape their approaches to evaluating student performance. The second part shifts to the role of academic leadership within the colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan, examining the nature of leadership in fostering academic excellence, managing institutional change, and addressing the unique challenges faced by higher education in Bhutan. Together, these discussions provide a comprehensive look at the intersection of pedagogy, leadership, and institutional growth in Bhutan’s education system.
